Education Packs

Download education packs on the history of Mill Waters created for teachers, parents, and pupils. Our learning packs on Mill Waters have been designed with and for teachers to apply the history of the place to the English School Curriculum for Key Stages 1 and 2. They provide a variety of lesson plans and teaching resources that teachers can download and use to support learning before, during, and after a visit to the Mill Waters site. The seven areas covered by the learning packs include: Archaeology, History of the Mills, Maps, Mansfield and Pinxton Railway, Social Unrest, Water Wheels, and Wildlife.

The Archaeology Education Pack includes lessons on topographic maps, how to carry out an archaeological dig, and why Portland Viaduct is such an important example of built heritage. There are lesson overviews, teacher's notes and teacher's slides below to download.
