Ault Hucknall village

Ault Hucknall village is a fascinating destination in Derbyshire that is known as the smallest village in England - although many would argue that it is a hamlet. The village has a few houses and St John the Baptist Church, where English philosopher Thomas Hobbes is buried. Ault Hucknall is close to the National Trust's Hardwick Hall and just across the border from Ashfield. 


How to get there
By car: Exit at junction 29 of the M1 and take the A617 exit to Chesterfield. Take Mill Lane to Hodmire Lane. 
By train: Shirebrook train station (5.5 miles) or Sutton Parkway station (6.8 miles).
