Rookery Park

Rookery Park is a beautiful, dog-friendly green space in Huthwaite with woodland, wetland, and grassland. In the 1800s, the park was the site of New Hucknall Colliery and today has surfaced pathways ideal for walkers and runners.
Visitors can follow the paths from one end of the park to the other and head up to the summit of the former pit tip that provides stunning views as far as Crich Stand in Derbyshire. The park can be accessed on Mill Lane, Common Road, Rookery Lane, and Columbia Avenue. Dogs welcome on a lead or under close control.

How to get there
By car: Exit at junction 28 from the M1 and continue on Alfreton Road/A38. Drive to Mill Lane in Huthwaite.
By train: Sutton Parkway station (2.7 miles).
