Thousands attended the first Ashfield Show in over a decade, organised by Out of the Box Events on behalf of Ashfield Council. Taking place over three fantastic days of sunshine in mid-August, the free event had a bustling market village of local traders with products including crafts, clothing, baked goods, pet accessories, candles, and much more. There was a funfair, inflatables, face painting, and a packed food court with street food, vegetarian and vegan options, and three garden bars.
On Friday, the UK’s top tribute acts performed live and included Taylor Swift, Rag 'n' Bone Man, and Ariana Grande, and The Ultimate Killers Tribute. Saturday's entertainment on the Main Stage included Eurovision’s Lindsey Dracass, and an incredible show from The Ultimate Coldplay tribute. Inside the giant marquee, visitors browsed stalls from community organisations including Mill Waters, Nonsuch Studios, Everyone Active, Art Explora, Felley Priory, Our Centre, Academy Transformation Trust Further Education, and Inspire.
The final day had Wild West performances full of pyrotechnics and engaging stories, a cinema screening on the main stage of The Secret Life of Pets, a dog show, live music, and a Mamma Mia sing-a-long experience. Following the success of Ashfield Show 2024, plans are already being made for 2025 to bring the show back bigger and better.
